By Michael Snyder – End of The America Dream Blog

Later this week, dozens of the most important men in the world are going to gather at an ultra-luxury hotel in Dresden, Germany to discuss the future of the planet.
What will happen at this meeting will not be televised, and the mainstream media in the United States will almost entirely ignore it, but decisions will be made at this conference that will affect the lives of every man, woman and child on the entire globe. Continue reading

graduationcapbwGraduates face a big challenge

When they go into the Real World, college and high school grads will actually have to THINK

As they don caps and gowns, endure commencement speeches and take their diplomas, many high school and college graduates face bleak prospects in an economy that grew a dismal 0.5% the first quarter.

The United States added a meager 160,000 new non-farm jobs in April, a paltry 4,000 of them in manufacturing. First quarter 2016 averaged just 203,000 jobs per month. The labor force participation rate remains stuck at an abysmal 63% – meaning 93 million working age Americans are still unemployed. Continue reading

Wildlife Agent – First Mission

Who lives here?

Who lives here?

I am issuing an assignment for you and your kids, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, or play date friends. This mission, if you choose to accept it, will lead you to information online that is critical to the deployment of forthcoming spy tasks. You and your agents will follow directives with time outdoors regardless of circumstances beyond your control (i.e., weather). You may complete your mission in your own backyard or a nearby park, or you may challenge yourself by pursuing observations in destinations further out: go on a wildlife observation hike.
Step one: background research. Go to National Wildlife Federation’s (NWF) link then click on your state that appears on the US map. Continue reading

Damascus Voters Choose To Turn Reigns Of Governance Over To The County

Bill Wehr

Bill Wehr, Council President

The majority of voters in Damascus, by a 2-1 margin chose to disincorporate the City in the May 2016 election. Approximately 60% plus turned out to vote, which is higher than most past May elections. As of July 18, 2016 Damascus will no longer be a self-governing entity with the privilege of its own home rule charter. All the City’s citizens and properties will come under the direct jurisdiction of Clackamas County. Some, that border on Happy Valley will apply to be annexed into that city. But the issues that have challenged those that stay as unincorporated county will still remain. Now, the County will control the processes to resolve them. Continue reading

WARNING: This article and by extension this newspaper should not be shown to children in thePortland Public School (PPS) system by order of the Portland School Board.

‘Banned in Portland’ may not yet have the same notoriety as ‘Banned in Boston’ or ‘Banned in Tennessee.’ But we are catching up. Please do not look for a centerfold in this newspaper showing some gorgeous gal, au natural. And don’t look for photos of Oregon politicians guilty of inappropriate sex. This isn’t about SEX. This is about something far more controversial: SCIENCE.

Catastrophism unleashed!

Catastrophism unleashed!

Yes, believe it or not, competent science is again deemed a threat to humanity by daring to doubt the Global Warming paradigm. It is as though we are back in 1925 Tennessee where fundamentalist followers of an old time religion were up in arms about Evolution replacing Creationism. Today the issue is Competent Science versus Catastrophism. Competent Science is that messy business where perpetually skeptical scientists argue the vital details of a very complex subject, in this case, the Earth’s climate. Continue reading

The Case for Donald Trump-Hashtag Never Moloch

By Jim Wagner, The Northwest Connection

Presidential Candidate Donald Trump

Presidential Candidate Donald Trump

Dennis Prager has recently offered what seems to me a startlingly clear-headed perspective on the “Never Trump” mantra.  Of course that is only another way of saying that he sums up my thoughts exactly.  To wit, it is heartbreaking to find so many conservatives and Christians I respect and admire aligned on the side of what seems to me a rather shallow and dangerously inchoate moral principle.  In their “Never Trump” stand they seem to be clearing their consciences by washing their hands, as if taking no action when confronted with a choice between two evils can ever be a principled alternative.
