Celebrating the pairing of Boring, Oregon and Dull, Scotland.
The Boring Community Social In The Park is the traditional activity for Boring & Dull Day. A day set aside by the state legislature.
Every August 9th is to be Boring & Dull Day in perpetuity.
Free Ice Cream will be served by volunteers from:
Damascus Kiwanis Club, Hollyview Family Church, Sandy Veterans of Foreign Wars and Country Cutups Square Dance Club
Food For Purchase will be available by the Boring-Damascus Grange.
New this year:
A Wine & Beer Garden provided by Boring Winery and Boring Brewing Co.
The Boring & Dull Ensemble (of Bagpipers and Drums):
Jeff Brewer, Rob McKendrick and Rob Barrick will play traditional Scottish Highland music to honor our friends in Dull, Scotland.
A Salute to our Flag and our Veterans:
Boy Scout Troop 586 will present the colors and lead us all in a Flag Salute at 6 pm.
A tribute to our Veterans will follow thereafter.
The Boring & Dull Day 8-9 Raffle Drawing
Some of our elected officials will draw the 32 winning tickets for the Boring & Dull Day Raffle at 7 pm. The prizes have a total value of over $3,000.
The Boring & Dull Day 50-50 Raffle Drawing
A drawing for a cash prize of 50% of the raffle pot will be at 8 pm.
The 50/50 drawing will also include several door prizes.
Rock & Roll:
Ron Ruedi and the Hurricanes will provide an energetic program that includes a selection of oldies but goodies.
Come join us!
Be sure to bring your lawn chair or a blanket for sitting on the ground.
