New Venue For East County! Let’s Go Horse Back Riding This Summer!

Let’s go trail riding!
Come explore the scenic spectacular views!

Double Mountain Horse Ranch of Hood River has been awarded a US forest service permit to operate within 1,000 acre parks near Troutdale from I-84 the exit 18 Sandy River Delta. This new permit allows all levels of horseback riders from beginners to intermediate and advanced to experience outdoor trail rides with water crossings for the next four months. “The forest service has been wonderful assisting us to maintain our business closer to Portland due to the fire closure of the trail heads in the Herman Creek Cascade Locks Area,” states Margo Vankat Goodman, owner of Double Mountain Horse Ranch.

Double Mountain Horse prides itself on no trace left behind; and follows all the rules and regulations of the USDA. The ranch works closely with the local community teaching riding lessons. They offer equine-assisted therapy sessions via the Eagala Horse Program . The Pony Pal Kids Camp includes horse husbandry, arts and crafts, hands-on watering, and farming 60 tons of our own hay a year for the animals’ food.

Galloping is fun!

Margo and staff continually give thanks to God for providing them the path that allows others to ride their horses and keeping the horses well cared for. “Thank you for your support keeping our operation in business,” says Margo!
They have an online booking system and can be reached at ridinginhoodriver.com, or call 541-513-1152.
