Should TIGARD/TUALATIN School District make decisions about who can touch your minor child’s body?

The TTSD School Board has been urged to change district policy and allow the School-Based Health Clinic (SBHC) to distribute hormonal contraceptives. TTSD Board members were not elected nor the Superintendent hired to make health care decisions for students (ORS 322.072).

Healthcare decisions are serious. Most parents and guardians want the right to decide if their child will be examined by a medical professional, and prescribed or injected with a medication.

According to Oregon Statues, any students of any age at the high school can access “services” without parental knowledge or consent. (ORS 109.610, 640)
