Where I’m From

Olivia Caldwell

I’m from the smell of fresh pine
From the sunlight between the trees
I’m from the morning air
Crisp and full of dew
I’m from the rose petals that grew
Ever so slowly behind my window
I’m from chocolate chip cookies
From reading fragile faded books
I’m from cinnamon candles
From soft Christmas lights
I’m from fuzzy blue gloves
And a small broken sled
I’m from church on Sunday
From the verses engraved in my heart
From the coffee stain on my Bible
To the tears spilt down the pages
I’m from the One I call my Savior
I’m from many rainy days
From tea by the window
I’m from cozy warm cuddles
And uncontrollable laughter
I’m from the people and places I love
