Walking Man’s Hoptoberfest to Benefit the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Association

The Stevenson Volunteer Firefighters Association hopes to move forward as planned with Walking Man Brewing’s 15th Annual Hoptoberfest.  The event is scheduled for this Saturday, September 9th from noon to 10pm on the brewery grounds in Stevenson, WA. Partnering in early 2017, Walking Man Brewing offered to dedicate a portion of the event’s proceeds to help the Association in its mission to serve the community of Stevenson. In light of the fires still threatening the Columbia River Gorge, the hope is to find needed relief and an outlook of optimism and gratitude.

“The Eagle Creek Fire has devastated the citizens in the Columbia River Gorge and those near and far that have come to appreciate and explore. Our intention is to look forward and focus on what we have over what we’ve lost.  This event was intended as a benefit for the Fire Association Volunteers and they deserve our gratitude now more than ever.  If conditions are safe, we will continue as planned,” said Tabatha Wiggins, Walking Man Brewing.

The Stevenson Volunteer Firefighter’s Association is an active part of the Stevenson, Washington community and is dedicated to supporting the hardworking efforts of volunteer firefighters.  The goal of the Association is to offer charitable assistance to victims of fire or disaster in the community, to support our local firefighters, and provide scholarships to Skamania County students.

“The Stevenson Fire Association is our main conduit for donations that go toward fire hardships, medical loss and scholarships. We appreciate Walking Man hosting an event to help the Association with their efforts,” said Rob Farris, Stevenson Fire Chief.

This year’s Hoptoberfest is dedicated to the firefighters and volunteers who have put the community and its safety first and who have selflessly given their time to help. The Stevenson Volunteer Firefighters Association would like to honor these men and women.

The event is open to all ages and will feature live music and lawn games in additon to Walking Man brews, Aniche Cellars Wines and Jester & Judge Ciders.  Food vendors Gorge Grub, Pork Wind & Fire and FlavorLab Gelato will be available in the festival tent.  Walking Man’s brewpub will be open for normal business serving their full menu of pub favorites.
