Elmer’s Excited To Be Part Of The East Portland Community

Sign of the times: a new Elmer’s restaurant in East Portland
Come on down to 1933 NE 181st!

A longtime Portland family tradition continues with the addition of Elmer’s Restaurant to the East Portland community. “We are very excited to be growing in the Portland area in order to serve more local families! Everything we do at Elmer’s is done to support our three word mission statement – Delight Our Guests,” said Jerry Scott, President/CEO.

The newest addition to the Elmer’s Restaurants, Inc. family is a conversion of the former Francis Xavier’s Restaurant on 181st & San Rafael (near Halsey). Francis Xavier’s was opened in 1999 by brothers Frank and Keith Gaudette, who both had previously worked for Elmer’s.
Led by Julie Jimenez, General Manager, and Armando Benitez, Kitchen Manager, all Francis Xavier’s team members were hired by Elmer’s because of their great personality and commitment to guest service. The entire team did a fantastic job learning the Elmer’s menu and getting the restaurant ready for the re-opening!

Along with signage, the interior artwork has been updated to reflect all that is wonderful about the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood scenic area. New carpet and booth upholstery will be installed soon, along with a new roof and siding later this summer.

With ample choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Elmer’s menu features an emphasis on fresh, quality, premium ingredients, and traditional flavors. An example of the commitment to quality, 100% real Northwest Dungeness Crab is featured on the Crabacado Omelet, Dungeness Crab Benedict and Dungeness Crab BLT salad. “It’s truly the absolute best fresh crab available,” stated Scott. Additionally, the signature Northwest Lodge Blend coffee is roasted in Portland, OR by Boyd’s Coffee, syrups are made by Trailblazer which shares a parking lot with the restaurant, and all batters are prepared fresh in-house.

Signature favorites sure to be a hit with guests include the German Pancake, Looking for Sun Omelet, Bacon & Tillamook Cheddar Potato Pancakes, and the Classic Mimosa. While the food is a star in its own right, it’s the service that will make guests smile. The Elmer’s team is looking forward to continuing the tradition as a local favorite in the East Portland community.
